Typical Application & Installation

1. Preparation: Ensure the male threads of the pipe or fitting are completely clean, dry, and free of any debris, old tape, or metal shavings.

2. Wrapping Direction: Always wrap the tape in the opposite direction of the thread turn (typically clockwise when looking at the end of the pipe). This prevents the tape from unraveling or bunching up when the fitting is screwed into place.

3. Tension and Overlap: Apply the tape with firm tension so it pulls down into the grooves of the threads. Use 3 to 5 overlapping wraps depending on the thickness of the tape and the depth of the threads.

4. Finishing: Break or cut the tape and press the loose end firmly into the threads before threading the joint together.
